Tim Carmichael, CFO is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience as a financial administrator. As a financial executive for a major corporation, Tim presided over hundreds of millions of dollars and hundreds of employees. Although Tim has built a distinguished career in the corporate world and in private accounting, he is most proud of his role as advocate for his developmentally disabled son, Ben. Through years of active participation in his local mental health system, (even serving as St. Joseph County CMH Board Chair) Tim has helped Ben build a network of allies in his community and live a truly self-determined life.

One of Ben’s greatest allies is GuardianTrac CEO David Bair, MA, LLP. David has dedicated over 25 years to improving mental health in Michigan. Through his work with CMH for Central Michigan, he has helped build programs for infants, children, the deaf and hard of hearing and community collaborative groups. He has been a friend to Tim and Ben for over 30 years. As Ben’s godfather, David was instrumental in helping Ben and his family navigate the Self-Determination process.

Through David and Tim’s unique friendship and experience, GuardianTrac was formed with one purpose: to help people live their own lives.
